Buyer's Guide
What is the Ikon Pass?
When it comes to skiing and snowboarding, having a season pass can make all the difference. With a season pass, you have access to multiple resorts, discounts on lift tickets and other perks that are not available to regular ticket holders. One of the most popular options for avid skiers and snowboarders is the Ikon Pass.
The Ikon Pass is a multi-resort multi-day pass that connects you to some of the most iconic mountains across the world to ski vacation at. You can now use the IKON Pass at over 50 destinations in 11 countries. The main Ikon Pass acts the same way as a season pass but there is more to it because you gain access to 14 resorts to ski and ride with unlimited days plus up to 7 days at another 35 resorts worldwide. So in effect, the IKON pass is a 14-resort season pass with another bonus of 7 days at another 40 resorts.
The Ikon Base Pass and Ikon Session Pass offer a similar product that has more restrictions at a lower price.
The pass is sold by Alterra Mountain Company, which owns and operates many well-known ski areas such as Aspen Snowmass, Jackson Hole, and Lake Tahoe’s Squaw Valley Alpine Meadows.

Why Buy the 2024/25 Ikon Pass?
The 2024/25 Ikon Pass offers a multitude of benefits that make it an attractive choice for avid skiers and snowboarders. Firstly, holders enjoy access to a vast network of ski resorts across North America and select international locations. With over 40 premier destinations, including renowned spots like Mammoth Mountain in California and Whistler Blackcomb in Canada, the pass allows for diverse experiences on the slopes. This extensive range ensures that passholders can explore varying terrain styles, from well-groomed runs to challenging backcountry routes.
Moreover, the IKON Pass provides significant savings compared to purchasing single-day lift tickets. By investing in a pass, frequent visitors can enjoy a more economical approach to skiing or snowboarding throughout the season. This advantage is particularly beneficial for those who plan to visit multiple resorts, as it eliminates the worry of incurring high ticket costs at different locations.

These added benefits encourage passholders to enjoy more than just skiing, allowing opportunities for relaxation, socializing, and discovering new activities within the resorts.
Furthermore, with early season access to certain resorts and exclusive event invitations, passholders feel like part of an elite community. This sense of belonging elevates the skiing experience, fostering connections among enthusiasts who share a passion for winter sports.
