Steamboat is a major ski area located in north western Colorado in Steamboat Springs. The resort opened in 1963 and runs across several mountain peaks within the Park Range overlooking the Yampa Valley.
It’s a large family-friendly resort located 157 miles/250 km northwest of Denver, which is a straightforward four-hour drive along I-70 through the Eisenhower tunnel to Silverthorn, exit 205, next take CO 9 north to Kremmling, then west on US 40 to Steamboat Springs.
